Privacy Policy
AI Chess is built by ackbiz. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we keep it safe. We try hard to ask for as little as possible.
What we collect
From your account
- Email address — for sign-in, password reset, and to send you game / friend notifications you opt into.
- Display name — what other players see in matchmaking and friends lists. You choose it; you can change it any time.
- Avatar (optional) — only stored if you upload one. Cropped to 512×512 JPEG, ~50–150 KB.
From your gameplay
- Game history — moves, result, opponent type, and time control of every finished game.
- Per-pool ELO ratings — Bullet, Blitz, Rapid, Classical. Only updated when you finish an online game.
From your device
- Diagnostic crash data — anonymous; used only to fix bugs.
- Advertising identifier (IDFA / GAID) — only if you opt-in via the OS prompt. Used by AdMob to serve relevant rewarded ads in the AI hint flow. Decline and you'll see non-personalised ads instead.
What we don't collect
- Phone numbers, addresses, payment details (no purchases).
- Contacts, photo library (only the avatar you explicitly pick).
- Precise location.
How we store it
Account data lives in our Supabase project (PostgreSQL behind TLS). Row-level security (RLS) means each user can only read / update their own rows. We never share your data with third parties for marketing.
Your rights
You can delete your account at any time — Profile → Edit profile → Delete account. That cascade removes your profile, ratings, game history, avatar, friends and notifications from our database within seconds.
Children
AI Chess is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us at the address below and we'll delete it.
