Quick answers
Frequently asked
Do I need an account to play?
No — Play vs AI, Play vs Computer and Pass & Play work offline as a guest. Online play, friends, and saving your rating across devices need a free account.
How do AI hints work?
Each AI game starts with three hints. Tapping the AI Hint button shows the engine's top move and a one-line explanation. Run out? Watch a short rewarded ad to earn one more.
What rating system do you use?
ELO, computed per time-control pool: Bullet, Blitz, Rapid and Classical. Wins / losses / draws update your pool rating only — no cross-pool inflation.
How do friend requests + game invites work?
Add a friend by name or QR code, then tap their profile and choose Invite to play. They get a notification and a toast; tapping View opens an Accept / Decline dialog. Pending invites also surface on the Home screen so a closed toast never strands an invite.
Are there ads?
One opt-in spot: when you've used your free AI hints, the Hint button switches to Watch ad · +1 hint. Don't want them? Don't tap. The rest of the app is ad-free.
Which devices are supported?
Android (8+), iOS (14.5+), macOS (12+), Windows 10/11, and most modern Linux desktops (Ubuntu 22.04+). The web build runs on any modern browser.
Can I play in the browser without installing anything?
Yes — head to chess.ackbiz.com/game. The full Flutter app loads in the browser. Same account works there as on mobile.
How do I delete my account?
Profile → Edit profile → scroll to the Danger zone → Delete account. The cascade removes your profile, ratings, history, friends and notifications. Can not be undone.
